Our Company - History
MBCI opened its first sales office and plant in Houston, Texas, in July 1976. It knew to be competitive it had to offer a quality product at a competitive price and to offer better service than anyone else. The company expanded over the years by adding new products and it grew to 20 sales and manufacturing plants, which included two subsidiaries providing coil processing and coating service to the industry.
In 1998, MBCI became part of Houston based NCI Building Systems, Inc. This combination created a company with nearly $1 billion in sales, close to 5000 employees and 37 manufacturing facilities. Today, NCI Building Systems is the largest integrated manufacturer of building components, engineered building systems and metal coil coating in the industry. NCI Building Systems is traded on the NYSE with a stock symbol of NCS.
