ECO-FICIENT INSULATED METAL PANELS

MBCI manufactures insulated metal panels for both roof and wall applications. Our Eco-ficient™ panels come in a wide array of color and applied finish offerings and are great for a multitude of building projects.

eco-FICIENT Cold Storage Insulated Panels

MBCI’s eco-FICIENT series is comprised of the highest quality insulated metal panels for the cold storage and food processing industries. eco-FICIENT cold storage insulated panels offer many advantages over traditional building envelope materials, including superior structural performance, high insulating capabilities, quick and easy installation and minimal maintenance throughout the lifetime of the system.

Our Panels Make the Difference™ The insulation in eco-FICIENT panels is polyisocyanurate foam using a non-chlorofluorocarbon (non-CFC) blowing agent, HFC-245fa™. This non-flammable blowing agent allows the foam to have better thermal properties and a more stable cell structure, along with superior flame and smoke spread ratings, compared to other blowing agents commonly used in the industry. HFC-245fa is a non-ozone depleting chemical.

The cell structure is 98 percent closed with a density of 2.2 pounds per cubic feet (minimum). eco-FICIENT’s low density provides increased R-values per inch of insulation. It also inhibits water absorption and allows it to be insect and rodent resistant.

eco-FICIENT cold storage insulated panels are sealed at the side laps and to the substructure at all perimeter boundaries, providing an effective vapor barrier that also meets Continuous Air Barrier (CAB) requirements. This barrier inhibits vapor drive between the interior and exterior of cold storage facilities. By sealing the panels together and to the structure, moisture laden air is unable to pass from the warm side of the wall to the cooler side. The double tongue-and-groove interlock with hidden clips provides continuous insulation (ci) and eliminates thermal bridges. The interlock, coupled with vapor seal mastic in the mastic groves, provides superior resistance to air and moisture intrusion, allowing for improved thermal performance of the building. It also allows the sealant to be placed on the warm side regardless of panel orientation.

There are a number of eco-FICIENT panels ideal for cold storage construction. The eco-FICIENT Insulated BattenLok roof panel has a 2-inch high standing seam with a Mesa profile and is typically smooth on roof slopes at 3:12 and less. Three wall panels that are typically used in cold storage construction included the eco-FICIENT Classic and Royal panels. The Royal panel is designed for both exterior wall applications and interior wall partitions and interior ceilings.

Exterior paint systems can help increase the performance attributes of your cold storage building. MBCI’s two separate paint systems, Signature® 300 and Signature® 200, provide outstanding durability and excellent solar reflectivity performance, meeting ENERGY STAR® criteria for both steep and low-slope applications. These coatings offer optimum exterior protection and resistance to chemical corrosion and ultraviolet radiation as well as superior chalk, fade and mar resistance. The standard interior color for eco-FICIENT panels is USDA White, which is FDA-approved.
